The mission statement of the PNP defines its mandates, which is to enforce the law, prevent and control crimes, maintain
peace and order and ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community.
The Police Provincial Headquarters' Profile
On 08 August 1901 after the creation of the National Police, the defuct Philippine Constabulary (PC), a team of constables
was detailed at Malaybalay, Bukidnon to take charge of the peace and order situation in the locality. The team was temporarily
encamped at the area now presently called Camp Captain Ramon M. Onahon. As the population of the province increased, the
team was enlarged to a platoon. Later, the higher Headquarters of the PC deemed to create a Provincial Headquarters in Bukidnon
and it was headed by a Provincial Commander.
On August 8, 1975, by virtue of a Presidential Decree the local Police was integrated with the PC and the resulting
unit was called the Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police which is Headed by the Provincial Commander of the
PC who was at the saem time Director of the INP. The Command has 22 municipal police stations and supported by three companies:
423rd PC/INP Comapny which was co-located with the Provincial Headquarters at Camp Ramon Onahon; 425tg PC?INP Company which
is based at Don Carlos Bukidnon; and the 485th Provisional Company which is encamped at Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
On January 2, 1991 the PC/INP was abolished and replaced by the Philippine National Police (PNP) pursuant to RA 6975.
The PC/INP personnel of Bukidnon were absorbed into the PNP members of the Bukidnon Police Provincial Office (BPPO). Presently,
the BPPO is headed by Atty, Archie Francisco Gamboa, CSEE, DSC as Provincial Director. It has two cities and 20 municipal
police stations and complemented by the 1003rd Provincial Police Mobile Group (PPMG) at Malaybalay City and the 1004th PPMG
at Don Carlos, Bukidnon. Provincewise, it has total of 715 personnel and 12 non-uniformed personnel.
